BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler USD 313 School Board gave approval to a new contract agreement with its teachers during a special meeting Thursday afternoon.
Under the new contract the overall compensation package for USD 313 certified staff increased 3.9%. Base pay for teachers increased $1,100 to $39,500. It also includes adding to the step and column movement in the pay scale. It also calls for increased share of health insurance, and adding $500 to the base of the supplemental schedule.
The board also approved increases in wages for all classified and administrative positions. The increase amounts to 3.9%. This includes a 3.4% increase in hourly wages as well as an increase in the district's share of health insurance costs.
Also Thursday, he board approved the new calendar for 2022 and 23. Under the new calendar school will start Tuesday, Aug. 16. Students will be off for Christmas from Dec 22 through Jan 3. Spring break will run March 13 through the 17 and the last day of school will be May 18.
