
Dennis D. “Mule Skinner” Cannon, 76, of Hutchinson, died February 26, 2025, at Reed’s Cove Health and Rehabilitation. He was born November 16, 1948, in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Carl and Thursa (Fox) Cannon.
Dennis graduated from Hutchinson High School. He enjoyed music and was self-taught on the harmonica. Dennis rebuilt a motorcycle and built his own wooden bus, which he lived in. He worked as an independent auto body technician, and loved to paint and work on interiors of vehicles. Dennis had a beloved mule named Jack which he rode around Hutchinson in his younger years. He was an intelligent character with a mind of his own and a heart of gold.
Dennis is survived by: siblings, Ted (Nancy) Cannon of Hutchinson, Chris Cannon of Gunter, TX, Linda (Art) King of Haysville, Lafie Cannon of Hutchinson; ex-wife, Betty Taylor of Derby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Fred Cannon and Steve Cannon; sister-in-law, Jana D. Cannon.
Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Carol Miller officiating. Family will receive friends an hour prior to service. Cremation has taken place.
Friends may sign his memorial book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
