Suzi Lynn Fisher, 70, of Hutchinson, died February 18, 2024, at Hospice House. She was born June 2, 1953, in Dallas, TX, to Samuel A. and Syble J. (Ziegler) Young.
Suzi graduated from Garland High School in 1971 and attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX, where she studied opera. Moving to Hutchinson in 1975, Suzi worked in the cosmetics departments at Peques Department Store, Terry Bloskey’s Clothing Store, and then at Nieman Marcus, in Dallas, from 1982 to 1999. Together, Suzi and Doug owned Yesterday's Treasures and The Tiffany House and Suzi managed Suzi’s Place boutique. She also obtained her real estate license and was an agent with Coldwell Banker. Suzi was an avid advocate for children and volunteered for CASA until they closed, and most recently with the Reno County Citizen Review Board. She also enjoyed performing at Stage 9 Theater and exercising at Genesis and Beatz Fitness. Suzi was a member of CrossPoint Church, where she was involved in Grow Groups and served as a Greeter and Serve Team Leader.
On November 20, 1976, Suzi married Douglas H. Fisher, in Sterling. He survives.
Also surviving are: their son, Josh Fisher (Michelle Johnson), brother, Michael A. Young (Michael Postal) of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; sister-in-law, Lynette Tompkins (Gregg) of Yukon, OK; brother-in-law, Steve Fisher of Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday thru Friday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visions of Hope, CrossPoint Church, Hospice House, or Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
