
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Salt City Splash is inviting area families to dive into summer with its Community Swim Lessons program, offering affordable instruction designed to build confidence, safety and enjoyment in the water for all skill levels.
Two sessions will be offered this summer, with the first running June 15–25 and the second scheduled for July 6–16. Each session includes eight classes over a two-week period and is led by experienced instructors in a supportive, community-focused environment.
The cost is $40 per participant, with scholarships available to help ensure access for families. Organizers encourage early registration, noting that class spots tend to fill quickly.

The program includes a range of classes tailored by age and ability:
- Parent & Child (ages 6 months to 3 years) - 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. and 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.
- Preschool (ages 3–5) 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. and 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.
- Level 1 (ages 5 and up) 11:15 a.m. to noon and 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
- Level 2 (ages 7 and up) 11:15 a.m. to noon and 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
- Level 3 (ages 9 and up) 11:15 a.m. to noon and 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
- Junior Lifeguarding (ages 11–14) 11:15 a.m. to noon.
Organizers say the lessons are a valuable investment in water safety and lifelong skills, while also providing a fun, engaging activity for children and families during the summer months.
