
Felix Marquez, 82, passed away on February 6, 2026 at Legend of Hutchinson, Hutchinson, KS surrounded by his loved ones.
Felix was born on March 6, 1943, in Deerfield, KS, the son of Eleuterio and Maria (Coronado) Marquez.
Felix graduated from Syracuse High School in early 1960s and worked for APAC/Shears Construction for over 40 years, building and paving many roads such as I-70, and running the asphalt plant, where he met the love of his life, Deborah. He took in her children and raised them as his own. Felix loved to garden and work out in the yard, planting tomatoes every year.
Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Eleuterio and Maria (Coronado) Marquez; brothers Herman Marquez and Cecil Marquez, and sisters, Esther Lusk and Julia Allen, and his life partner, Deborah.
Felix is survived by his daughters, Aimee, Christie, Katy, and Elena, as well as his sons Philip, David, and Rodney, as well as 3 sisters, Teresa Winlock, Jessie Velasquez and Helen Kaiser, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Per Felix’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to your local animal shelter or the ASPCA. Arrangements and care entrusted to Hutchinson Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
