
INDEPENDENCE, Kan. — The Dragons (15-4, 9-4) forced 22 turnovers Wednesday night on the road against the Pirates (9-10, 5-8).
Hutchinson got 27 points off those turnovers and held Indy to 17 total points in the first half.
The Dragons started 1-4 on the road this season, but have won all three road games of 2023.
Hutchinson, now winners of five straight, only turned the ball over 10 times in the contest.
Mya Williams shot 12 of 19 from the floor and finished with 28 points .
Monae Duffy notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Journey Armstead (14) and Morgan Browning (12) also scored in double figures for Hutchinson.
Indy shot just 31% for the contest, including an ice-cold 17% (3-17) to start the game.
The Dragons took just nine three-point attempts and shot 46.4% overall.
Hutchinson hit 15 of 17 free throws (88.2%) despite shooting 67% for the season.
Valentina Ojeda provided the lone bright spot for Independence with her 24-point, 12-rebound performance.

The Dragons earn the regular-season sweep of Indy (won by 8 in the Sports Arena on Nov. 16).
