🏀 WBB: Dragons bounce back at home

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson (18-5, 12-5) bounced back from a Saturday road loss at No. 17 Barton by outscoring Cowley (12-11, 7-10) 58-30 in the paint Wednesday night.

The Dragons also avenged a road loss to the Tigers from the first half of the season.

Monae Duffy scored 16 points in the first half to lead Hutchinson into the locker room with a 47-34 advantage.

Duffy finished the night with 24 points and seven rebounds (five on the offensive glass). Duffy started the game 8 of 11 from the field before finishing 12 of 19.

Mya Williams scored eight unanswered to begin the second half. Eight of her 10 in the second half came in the first three minutes of the third quarter and were part of a 12-0 Dragon run.

Leata Te Nana-Williams scored 12 points and Morgan Browning had 10 for Hutchinson.

Three Tigers, led by Carson Dean's 17, scored in double figures.

FINAL: Hutchinson 91 Cowley 70

The Dragons outscored the Tigers 26-2 in fast break points.

Hutchinson scored 25 points off 21 Cowley turnovers.

The Dragons are now 12-0 at home.
