MOUNDRIDGE USD 423

The USD 423 Board of Education has announced the selection of Clark Wedel as interim superintendent. Wedel assumes this two-year interim position on July 1, 2026, when the resignation of Cody Rierson takes effect on June 30, 2026.

“We loved our time in Moundridge, and I am excited to fill the role of Interim superintendent for the district.” Clark and his wife, Marilyn, have three grown children (and MHS Alumni) and four grandchildren.

Wedel has broad educational experience spanning over 35 years, including 10 years at Moundridge High School as a principal. He later worked as superintendent at USD 312 Haven for seven years. Most recently, he worked for Wiens and Company Construction in Hutchinson as Business Development/Educational Consultant.

USD 423 board of education president, Michael Beasley, stated, “We understand the importance of not rushing the decision to find a leader for USD 423 and it became evident throughout this process that an interim leader with previous superintendent experience and more importantly, experience with our school district, was the appropriate decision for use at this time. We are excited to welcome Mr. Wedel back to Moundridge and look forward to the leadership he will provide the district.”
