Animal control responds for multiple dogs after KC house fire

KANSAS CITY —Authorities are working to determine the cause of a house fire in Kansas City.

Just before 6a.m. Wednesday, crews responded to a reported house fire in the 3500 block of E. 26th Street in Kansas City, Missouri, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

Crews reported heavy fire through the roof of a two-story occupied home .  Searches of the structure came back all clear. The occupants of the home were able to escape. The fire was placed under control at 5:53 am. Red Cross was ordered for two adults and animal control was ordered to care for multiple dogs.
