HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The first "All Hands On Deck" professional development day was held Wednesday at the Hutchinson Community College campus with more than 1,100 Reno County educators in attendance.

Dr. Randy Watson, Kansas Commissioner of Education, spoke first to the large group in the Sports Arena. Then keynote speaker Jim Knight gave his talk "Better Conversations for Learning."

Over 100 breakout sessions on a broad spectrum of topics were held in classrooms across the HutchCC campus.

Reno County Health Educator Seth Dewey spoke about "Overdose Recognition and Response with Narcan (naloxone)." Dewey shared information on recognizing the signs of an overdose and what to do to save someone's life.

Collaborative discussions with peer educators from across Reno County were held and Jim Knight gave a closing message. There were more than 27 vendors and drawings were held for the participants.
