Claire Elaine Rhoades  |1944-2022| 

Claire Elaine Rhoades, 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Diversicare, Haysville.   She was born May 5, 1944 in Wichita, to Claire and Velma (Gathers) Dunbar.

In 1962, Claire graduated from Miltonvale High School in Miltonvale.  She attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College where she received her Associate’s Degree.  Claire worked for Dillons Market Place for over 18 years in various positions.  During the Kansas State Fair, Claire worked at the Dairy Barn for many years.  She learned how to play the piano at a very young age of 5 and continued to play throughout the years.  She attended Hutchinson Wesleyan Church.

Claire is survived by her children, Leroy Rhoades, David W. Rhoades and Cyndi Vancil; grandchildren, Mitchell (Amberlea) Stahl, Michael Stahl, Paul Rhoades, Charles Rhoades, Dallas Rhoades and Michael Rhoades; and great grandchildren, Koen Lee Stahl, Laken Thiel, Renesmae Rhoades and Marcus Thiel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Dunbar; a son, Paul D. Rhoades and a daughter, Sharon K. Rhoades.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson, with Rev. Charles Crumble Sr. officiating.  Hutchinson Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
