HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Board of Education tabled further discussion on its governance platform during a special meeting on Monday.
Back in June, the board approved the proposal to change its governance model to follow that of the Kansas Association of School Boards while incorporating aspects of the current coherent governance platform.
The district changed to the coherent governance model under the leadership of Dr. David Flowers as a way of evaluating how the district was doing in a variety of areas. Under that model, the board examined all academic areas in a public meeting at some point during the year, setting goals for district staff.
During Monday’s meeting it was determined that further planning was needed and the discussion was tabled to allow for district leadership review.
The next regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is Monday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. at Wiley Elementary School, 900 W. 21st Ave.
