Posted Dec 15, 2021 4:14 PM

HAVEN, Kan. — The Haven School Board has hired the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB) to help with their search for a new superintendent. That came during a special meeting Tuesday night.

Current superintendent Clark Wedel will step down from his duties June 30th of 2022. The KASB set up dates for finding Wedel's replacement Tuesday night. If all goes as planned, the KASB will meet with various groups around the district including patrons, teachers and others. Those meetings will take place January 31st. A special board meeting will follow to present those findings.

On Feb. 8th, the KASB will return at a special board meeting to present their list of potential candidates for the job. That will be followed by four days of potential interviews running from Feb. 15th through the 18th.

A final candidate should be ready for the board to take final action on their choice, shortly after those interviews are finished.
