Catherine Jean Deist, 73, of Mcpherson, Kansas, passed away at 7:34 p.m., Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 while in the company of family members at her residence.
Catherine was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on July 15, 1947, a daughter of Walter Hall and Betty Hall.
Catherine attended multiple school in Michigan and Kansas.
She was a homemaker.
Catherine enjoyed crocheting, reading, being a mom and loved spending time with her friends and family.
Catherine Jean Hall was united in marriage to John Edward Deist, Jr. on November 26, 1971 in Hutchinson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Hutchinson. The couple was blessed with the birth of seven children, four daughters and three sons, Jeffery, Elizabeth, Emma, Patricia, Jennifer, John and Butch.
She is survived by her children, Jeffery Deist and his wife Wendy, of Pasco, Washington, Elizabeth Deist, of Boston, Massachusetts, Emma Vaughn-Deist, of Roanoke, Virginia, Patricia Williams, of McPherson, Kansas, Jennifer Weber and her husband Daryl, of Salina, Kansas, John Deist, of Manhatten, Kansas and Butch Deist, of McPherson, Kansas; her father Walter Hall, of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
Catherine was preceded in death by her mother; her husband John; a granddaughter Rebecca and her great-granddaughter, Hailey.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas with Rev. Dennis Corbet officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
