Hutch PD arrests juvenile for burglary

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police Department (HPD) said they arrested a juvenile for burglary on June 30. 

At approximately 3 a.m. on June 27 while on routine patrol, HPD officers heard an audible alarm in the area of 30th Avenue and Lorraine Street. Shortly after it was determined to be coming from the Dollar General at 3030 N. Lorraine St.. Officers secured the scene and located evidence consistent with a burglary. Upon search of the building nobody was found inside but multiple items were reported as missing.

Investigators were ultimately able to identify a 16-year-old male juvenile as the suspect.

On June 30 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the juvenile was placed into custody without incident and multiple items from the burglary were recovered.

HPD is not releasing the suspects name at this time. The juvenile is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
