
Frank Preston Triffet, 84, passed away May 22, 2023, at his home. He was born July 4, 1938, in Lewiston, IL, to Glen Triffet and Jane (Preston) Triffet.
Frank was a 1957 graduate of Western University Lab High School and attended Western University, both located in Macomb, IL He served in the United States Army Reserve in Illinois. Frank was the owner and operator of Triffet’s North Main Barbership for over 65 years. He also was an instructor for over 52 years in the hunter safety program. Frank was a member of Kiwanis, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Central Kansas Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and New Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, KS.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. Frank could be found on a ball diamond coaching t-ball, little league, or church softball teams of which his kids may or may not have been members. He served as an umpire for Hutchinson Broncs baseball and refereed Hutchinson Recreation Commission basketball games. Frank loved being involved and held various titles, but the titles that he cherished most were husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He truly was a family man who could be counted on to take care of his family.
On May 10, 1959, Frank married Patsy Louise Theisen, in Hutchinson, KS. They shared over 64 years of marriage.
Frank is survived by: his wife, Patsy Triffet of Hutchinson, KS; daughters, Lori Triffet of Hutchinson, KS, and Angela Wood of Goddard, KS; grandchildren, Andrew Wood, Lindsey (Anthony) Sagerty, and Adam Payer; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Venable, Sebastian Sagerty, and Savannah Sagerty; and brothers, Lyn (Laura) Triffet of Cuernavaca, Mexico, and David (Sharon) Branchfield of Fountaintown, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Kenneth White.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 700 E. 25th, Hutchinson, KS, with Pastor Craig Waetke officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Kansas Army National Guard. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. The service can be viewed online by going to the New Covenant Presbyterian Church Facebook page on the day of the service. Cremation has taken place.
