
Beryl Owen Blew, 94, died November 21,2025 in Hutchinson. Born May 9, 1931 at Castleton, Kansas he was the son of Edmond A. “Ed” and Ethel J. (Nelson) Blew. He was a 1949 graduate of Sylvia Rural High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. Corporal Blew served on Hill #355 with the 936th Field Artillery Battalion during the Korean War. Beryl retired as the maintenance supervisor for the City of Sylvia after more than 40 years of service. On September 29,1956 he married Twila Mitzner in Sylvia. Beryl's strong faith in Jesus Christ was a sustaining force throughout his life and years of service.
Beryl is survived by his wife, Twila. Sons: Kevin D. Blew and his wife Denice of Clarence, MO and Major Brian G. Blew, EdD (U.S. Army Retired) and his wife Dana of Lansing, KS.
Six grandchildren: Gabe (Neely) Blew, Anna (Daniel) Miller, Jordan (Scott) Varga, Beau (Lindsay) Blew, Sean (Jenny) Blew and Spencer (Kelsi) Blew.
Great Grandchildren: Jaden Blew, Tristan Blew, Adley Blew, Jude Miller, Lydia Miller, Gideon Miller, Foster Varga, Elliott Varga, Owen Blew, Emmett Blew, Paisley Blew, Patrick Blew, Tillie Blew, Danny Blew, Murphy Blew and Maverick Blew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ethel Blew. Infant granddaughter: Lydia Blew, Siblings: James Blew, William Blew, Lola Mandeville, Opal Bunting, Helen Blew and Patty Blew.
Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 29,2025 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Immediately after the Memorial Service the funeral procession will motorcade to a reception with the family at the Sunflower Center on Main Street in Sylvia. There will be a private inurnment at Sylvia Cemetery on a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Turon Community Church, Hospice and Homecare of Reno County, Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch, or a Veteran’s Organization of the donor’s choice, all in care of Minnis Chapel.
