
Myrle Edward “Eddie” Walden, 73, died January 25, 2025 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 1, 1951, in Springdale, AR, to Donald David and Amy Marie (McQuiston) Walden.
Myrle worked for Reno County Public Works as a welder, retiring after many years of service. When he wasn’t working, Myrle's golden years were filled with laughter over coffee with friends, joy in restoring vintage cars, and the peace of tending to his vegetable garden. Most of all, Myrle enjoyed his time spent with his family and dogs.
On March 21, 1975, he married Debra Mae Mahoney. They shared over 43 years of marriage, prior to her death on December 12, 2018.
Myrle is survived by: his daughter, Barbie (Scott) Engstrom of Hutchinson; son, Stephen Walden; grandchildren, Wyatt Walden, Caden Engstrom, Micah Engstrom, Kendrick Dean, Zavia Walden, River Walden, Toby Walden, and Onyx Walden; great-grandson, Julian Engstrom; and his two fur babies, Katie and Ginger.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Don and Amy; and siblings, Donald Walden, James Walden, Billy Walden, Richard Walden, Lela Marlow, Kenneth Walden, and Barbara Stewart.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
