Mary A. Smith, 86, passed away on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS.  She was born on January 28, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska to George and Agnes (Foral) Stock.

On September 17, 1960, she married the love of her life, Dale Smith, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska.

Mary was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.  Her faith brought her much joy and she was a blessing to all those who knew her.  Mary enjoyed fishing in Minnesota, playing cards with her family and knitting.  She especially loved making lifetime memories traveling the world with Dale with their special place being their Minnesota cottage.

Mary loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She supported them with her continuous spiritual guidance and by cheering them on at sporting events, school activities, graduations and weddings.  As a mother and grandmother, Mary was always there to love, care for and help her family through all that life brought their way.  She will be dearly missed every day.

Mary is survived by:  her husband of 63 years, Dale, and their children, Mark Smith of Hutchinson, Linda Dahm (John) of Overland Park, Kansas, Ron Smith (Karen) of Hutchinson and Margie Doeden (Mark) of Hutchinson; grandchildren: Jack, Joshua, William, Katie (Kyle), Mary Beth (Austin), Stephanie (Nathan), Allison (Nick), Brian (Michelle), Tiffany (Richard), Tim, Mandie, Joshua (Dorothy), Rebecca, Shaun (Stephanie), Jacob (Jill), Michael (Jori) and baby, and Brian; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Anne Kramar of Omaha, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; in-laws, Carl and Alyce Smith; sister, Margaret Pyle; brother, George Stock; and beloved daughter-in-law, Kristin Smith.

Parish Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, KS, with Father Jerome Spexarth presiding.  Graveside service and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, with the family present from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
