
G.B. Chaney, 85, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS. He was born September 26, 1938, in Ola, AR to Anderson and Delia (Green) Chaney.
On June 16, 1961, G.B. married Joyce Ferguson in Ft. Worth, TX. She preceded him in death after 52 years of marriage. G.B. worked for Superior Boilers for over 25 years as a corrugator and retired in 2003. He was a volunteer for the Salvation Army delivering Meals on Wheels to local Hutchinson residents. G.B. was a member of Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, Hutchinson. G.B. enjoyed playing string instruments and played in many blue grass music festivals along with playing all over the Hutchinson area visiting local nursing homes and playing for their residents.
G.B. is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joyce.
He is survived by his three children, Gary Chaney, Cheryl (Reed)Brown and Linda (Greg) Glass; three sisters, Beatrice Dean, Jocie Cary and Betty Straight; four grandchildren, Nolan Chaney, Gregory Glass, Garrett Chaney and Geneva Mangold; 2 great grandchildren, Dilana and Adalynn Chaney; 2 step grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Aunt Jannette and Uncle Wayne Gilbert.
A funeral service will be at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, 1319 E. 17th Ave, Hutchinson, KS with Pastor Nathan Karriker officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave, Hutchinson. Memorial donations may be made to the G.B. Chaney Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
