RENO COUNTY, Kan. — According to a 6 a.m. Wednesday update from Evergy, around 300 customers are still without power in Reno County as of that point. A reminder that at its peak, there were over 18,000 customers out in Hutchinson alone.
Power has been restored to 95% of the nearly 110,000 customers affected by severe storms in Kansas and Missouri. More than 1,600 personnel are working on power restoration. Evergy crews, contractors, and Liberty Utilities are assisting with the work. Extensive tree damage is being cleared by 175 vegetation crews.
Some customers may be without power until Wednesday evening. Crews will continue to work until everyone’s power is back on.
