
KANSAS CITY—One person died in a house fire Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just before 8a.m., crews responded to a reported house fire in the 3200 block of E 26th Street, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.
On arrival crews reported smoke from the front of a single-story home. Fire crews found a victim during a search of the home. The victim is a man approximately in his mid-fifties, according to Hopkins. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead at the hospital.
KCPD Bomb and Arson have been requested to the scene and will conduct the investigation due to the fatality and as a part of standard procedure.
Dangerous buildings and city planning have also been requested. No other injuries were reported at this incident. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
