Ag Minute: Corn production costs and commodity prices

The National Corn Growers Association says they're doing what they can to bring production costs more in line with today’s commodity prices. 

This season will be the third consecutive year of losing money, and next year looks to be the same.  Kenneth Hartman, NCGA President, says low prices contribute to one side of the equation, but we must also look at the extremely high prices growers are paying for essential inputs on the other side.

Production costs have dropped three percent since 2022, while corn prices are half of what they were three years ago.
