
KAY COUNTY— Emergency crews from Kansas assisted an ambulance crew from Oklahoma over the weekend,
According to Newkirk Oklahoma Fire and EMS, an ambulance from their service struck a deer just after 4:30a.m. Saturday while transported a patient in Kansas.
Arkansas City, Kansas Fire and EMS transported the patient the rest of the way to the hospital, according to a social media report. The Newkirk ambulance "was not drivable."
The ambulance service reminded, "continue to use caution when driving especially at night because deer are still moving about and are on the road ways."
There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash.
