Susan Leone Guinn, age 69, passed away on May 6th, 2023 in her home in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Chillicothe, Missouri to William L. Shale and Hertha E. (Albright) Shale. She was a resident of Wichita, Kansas since 1983. She attended schools in Chillicothe, Missouri, where she graduated from Chillicothe High School, in 1973. After graduating, she married Ronnie Taube, and remained married to him until their divorce, in 1980.
Susan worked as a ward secretary, physician's secretary and a medical coder at the Wichita Veterans Administration until 2000, when she took an early retirement. She loved cats, and had many of them, over the years, along with several dogs. She loved fishing and camping, and she made ceramics for several years. She was a sweet, loving person, who will be remembered fondly, and with love, by everyone she touched.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Glennie Albright; her father, William L Shale; her mother, Hertha E. Shale; and sister, Helen Shale, who died shortly after birth.
Although she never gave birth to any children of her own, she helped her husband, Dennis P. Guinn, raise his two teenage boys, into manhood, and they regarded her as a mother, a friend, and a confidant.
Susan is survived by her husband, Dennis; sons Jeremy Thomas Guinn; Shane Michael Guinn; grandsons Forestt Patrick Guinn; Evan Michael Guinn and his wife, Laura; Noah Thomas Guinn; Jackson Slade Guinn; and great grand daughter, Lucy Sue Guinn.
Viewing and Service will be 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at the Baker Funeral Home in Valley Center, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be designated in her name to the Humane Society Of Wichita, Kansas.
