54th MCC sale is April 8 and 9

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The annual Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale is back for another year. The 54th annual event is set for April 8 and 9 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds.

As always, there will be the Feeding of the Multitude Friday from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday’s activities include the 5K run at 8 a.m. at Rice Park, the quilt auction at 8:45 and the general auction begins at 8:45 a.m., with a collectible toy auction at 11 a.m.

Some of the items include more than 200 quilts, all handmade, several antique tractors and vehicles, and the usual handcrafted furniture items and toys. Many other kids activities are also available, including the state fair's giant slide.

The silent auction features golf and vacation packages, a handcrafted and fully-furnished dollhouse and a stay at a B-n-B.
