HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The agreement between Hutchinson USD 308 and its teachers will be officially ratified by the Board of Education at their meeting Monday evening.

The agreement between HNEA and the Board of Education includes an increase of $600 on the base. The new base is $42,600, which is still the highest in Reno County. Step movement for teachers is allowed. This allows for an increase anywhere from $600 to $1200 for teachers coming back to the district. There was also an increase in health insurance covered by the board from $520/month to $530/month and also Retention Bonus pay of $1,250. Total increase, all told, is about 6%.

The board will also go over the official budget for this year on Monday, and set their Revenue Neutral Rate and Budget hearing dates.

It is important to note that because of state statute and the minimum mill levy that must be assessed by districts, going over revenue neutral is routine for almost all school districts in the state.

The Hutchinson USD 308 Board of Education meets Monday night at 6 p.m. in the Administration Center, 1520 N. Plum.
