KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.

Just before 10:30p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 3100 block of Kensington, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina. 911 received a call to the location asking for help.

First responders contacted people in the area that heard the sound of a disturbance followed by what they thought was possible gunfire. Officers checked the area and located a man unresponsive on the ground next to a residence.

Officers rendered aid and called for EMS. EMS took over treatment and declared the victim deceased at the scene, according to Becchina.

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim appears to have been shot. Investigation further appears the victim had an interaction at the location with unknown suspect(s) that led to gunfire striking the victim.

Homicide detectives were at the scene and investigating this case as a homicide. Police released no additional details early Wednesday.
