HutchCC to kick off new scholarship program

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College announced that it is taking advantage of the passage of House Bill 2064 by launching an initiative as part of the Kansas Promise Scholarship Act.

The initiative will provide scholarships to students to attend an eligible postsecondary institution for any two-year associate degree program, career and technical education certificate or stand-alone program otherwise identified by the Board of Regents.

The Kansas Promise Scholarship Act will allow students who enroll in select career and technical education programs at Hutchinson Community College to have tuition, fees and books paid for when other forms of aid are not sufficient to cover these educational costs.

"We are excited for any opportunity to help make a college education more achievable. The Promise Act will enable Hutchinson Community College to provide greater access for its students and further strengthen its position as a leader in technical education”, Dr. Carter File, HutchCC President said.

While specific details are still being finalized, HutchCC has launched a website – www.hutchcc.edu/promiseact - to share information related to eligibility and programs included in the initiative.
