PRETTY PRAIRIE, Kan. — The roof projects connected with the $7.7 million bond that was approved by voters this spring for Pretty Prairie USD 311 are just about done.
"Our roofing project is in its final days," said Superintendent Ashley Anderson. "They should be finished right before we leave for break on Dec. 19. That's right around their stopping point. That should get tidied up."
Then, there is one minor project being done over holiday break.
"We're replacing some carpet in the middle school," Anderson said. "That has nothing to do with the bond issue, but we'll have some work going on there. The window project is next on the list for bond projects. That won't start until probably March."
Winter weather is too unpredictable for the window project to go forward and the gym project drawings aren't ready for the board yet.
"They are still with the engineering firm," Anderson said. "That's the step that's at right now. We have not seen them since they have been there. We'll start looking at those again after the first part of the year. Also with the engineers are the plans for our science lab and ag shop and the ventilation systems that needed upgraded there."
Given the timelines, it's likely a lot of that work will happen over the summer after school gets out.
