James Herzet, 69, passed away October 1, 2023 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.
He was born October 29, 1953 in Florence to Jr. Alfred and Betty Jean (Meirowsky) Herzet. He married Janet Garrison March 3, 1973 in Emporia.
Survivors include: wife, Janet Herzet of rural Marion; son, Jared (Sara) Herzet of Shawnee, KS; daughter, Jenny Marie (Jon) Burright of Belton, Missouri; 5 grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents: sisters, Mary Ann Ecker, Geraldine Louise Berg; grandson, Kaleb James Montgomery.
Family will gather with friends on Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. October 9 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Florence for a visitation followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Isaac Coulter on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Church at 10:00 a.m. James will be laid to rest at the Marion cemetery following the mass.
