
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a homicide in Topeka.
Just after 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of NW Kendall Avenue in Topeka, according to Police Lt. Ronnie Connell. As officers arrived in the area, they located a person suffering from life-threatening injuries. While on the scene, medical personnel pronounced the individual deceased. Police have not released the name of the victim.
This is the city’s 14th homicide investigation of 2025.
