HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to a memo provided to the Nickerson-South Hutchinson USD 309 Board of Education prior to their meeting on Monday, the replacement and refresh of the video surveillance system in the district will begin the week of October 9th, 2023.
The process and replacement of this large number of cameras will take a bit of time and will be done in stages. The first stage will most likely be starting at South Hutchinson Elementary School, then moving through the district ending up at the district office to finish the refresh project.
This project will also require updating and modifications to be done to the servers in order for them to handle and continue to work efficiently because of the upgraded video that will be streamed.
This includes a substantial amount of additional storage that will be needed, as well as an overall update to the district's server and client software.
