Douglas Michael Goff of Waller, TX, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at that age of 81, following a lengthy illness.
Mike was born in Pratt, Kansas and spent his early years in Deerhead Township near Medicine Lodge, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Douglas Goff, and sisters, Barbara and Virginia.
Left behind are his loving wife, Ann of Waller, TX; daughter, Pam Cohnen and husband Alan of Waller, TX; granddaughters, Jennifer Hudgens and husband Kasey of Flint, TX and Erin Carantza of Houston, TX; great granddaughter, Melanie Sickles and great grandson, Paxton Hudgens of Flint, TX; two sisters, Ann Grover of Sequim, WA and Pat McCarty of Gold Hill, OR; and nephews, Sean McCarty of Waco, TX and Brian McCarty of Gold Hill, OR.
Mike attended Deerhead Grade School, a one room country school in rural Kansas and Medicine Lodge High School, graduating in 1961. He honorably served in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1965. Over a period of the next 35 years he was employed by three companies within the AT&T Corporation, transferring to Houston in 1972. He and Ann married on October 8, 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pasadena, Texas.
Mike’s real joy was boating and offshore fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He and Ann spent many wonderful days fishing from his adopted homeport, Freeport, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Lake City Cemetery, Lake City, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating with military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
