Jo Anne Leasure, 88, of Hutchinson, died February 16, 2023, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler. She was born July 31,1934, in Dodge City, to Gordon Ray and Bessie Bethel (Pierce) Vance.
Jo Anne graduated from Dodge City High School in 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at Kline Insurance and then Fee Insurance. Jo Anne was a charter member of Crossroads Christian Church and was active in visiting nursing home residents and those in the hospital. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. Jo Anne also was a good baker and bread was her specialty.
On July 19, 1953, she married Kenneth R. “Ken” Leasure, in Dodge City. They shared nearly 70 years of marriage. He survives.
Also surviving are: her sons, Vance Leasure (Judy) of Hutchinson, Tim Leasure (Cheryl) of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Taylor Leasure, Casey Leasure, Madison Leasure, Kyle Pontius (Abbey), Troy Pontius; four great-grandchildren; sister, Berna Dene Spriggs of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Cara Lee Howard and Marjorie Snell.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Crossroads Christian Church, 4310 N. Monroe, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
