NEOSHO COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for alleged arson.
On Friday police responded to the 1500 block of west 3rd Street in Chanute for a structure fire.
Officers spoke to the persons involved and arrested John Wasielewski III, 19, Chanute, on requested charges of aggravated arson, aggravated endangering a child, interference with a law enforcement officer and minor in possession of alcohol.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time. Upon completion, reports will be forwarded to Neosho County Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of charges being filed. Wasielewski remained in custody Monday, according to online jail records.
