Gaeddert Farms Sweet Corn, Inc. is now hiring for summer employment. Pay is $15 per hour for ages 16 and older. The minimum age to apply is 14.
• Sorting/Packaging at Buhler Farm
This job takes place at the farm just east of Buhler. Most work is done in the shed. Corn is picked by machine and brought to the shed, where work begins.
Tasks can include:
• Sorting good ears from bad ears
• Packaging sorted ears into boxes
• Loading boxes onto trailers
• Other miscellaneous tasks as needed
The minimum age to work in this position is 14. Hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays. Work begins at 5 a.m. and finishes between roughly 9 a.m. and noon.
• Kansas Grown Farmers Market Helper
This position is at the Kansas Grown Farmers Market at 21st and Ridge.
The job is Saturdays only, beginning either June 27 or July 4. Hours are 5:45 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.
Tasks can include:
• Bagging corn
• Making sales transactions with customers
Applicants must be able to easily move 50-pound boxes and work in the heat.
