HUTCHINSON Kan. — Formal charges have been filed against a man accused of rape and other charges in Reno County District Court.
Charges against 29-year-old Jarrod LaForce include one count each of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated domestic battery, driving under the influence, and counts of drug and drug paraphernalia possession. If convicted, he could face up to 54 years in prison, depending on his criminal history.
Deputies with the Reno County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence June 27 in the Obee Edition east of Hutchinson for a report of sexual assault. With the information given to dispatch, deputies were able to make contact with LaForce, whose vehicle had broken down in the area of G Avenue and Obee Road.
Upon further investigation, LaForce was arrested. He remains jailed on a bond of $105,000.
