
JOHNSON COUNTY —Last week, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a driver on Interstate 70 around Turner Diagonal, according to a social media report from Troop A. The trooper was stopping the driver for displaying a tag that belonged on a Dodge Charger; however, it was being displayed on a GMC truck.
The driver fled east on I-70. The trooper was joined by another trooper equipped with a Grappler. The trooper successfully deployed the Grappler on Interstate 70 just east of 18th Street.
The driver was taken into custody. It was discovered the driver had multiple felony warrants through multiple jurisdictions and was in possession of methamphetamine. The patrol released no additional details including the name of the suspect.
