Robert “Bob” (that’s Bob with a “B”) Davis, 47, passed away at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, KS on April 14, 2024. He was born May 10, 1976, in Athens, TX to Gerry Don Davis and Pamela (Martin) DeLoach. Robert graduated from Brownsboro High School in June 1994. He enlisted in the United States Navy on September 12, 1994, and was discharged on November 16, 1997.
On June 7, 2019, he married the love of his life, Sandra Denise Hurst, in Hutchinson, KS.
Bob loved to hunt, fish, golf, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a true comedian and loved to bring a smile to everyone's faces. Bob’s favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys, whether they won or lost. All of his pride was poured into his son, Garrett, and all the accomplishments he had made along the way. Bob’s United States Navy accomplishments included National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Good Conduct Medical, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Navy “E”, and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Bob started his work career at Haven Steel Products Inc, Haven followed by 20+ years at City Beverage, Hutchinson, and a short amount of time at Stutzmans. He was currently employed at LDF Wholesale Beverage Distributor, Wichita.
Bob is survived by: his pride and joy, son, Garrett Davis; wife, Sandra “Sandy” Davis; his cherished grandson, Michael Dick and granddaughter, Blakeleigh Dick; bonus children, Breanna Dick, Brendan Dick (Shayla Dick), Alex Dick, Morgan Koehn, all of Burrton, KS; bonus father, Dee DeLoach; sisters, Lora Appleton (Tom) of Cedar Hill, TX and Kacie Wagoner of Midlothian, TX; nephew, Matthew Keller (Bailey); nieces, Madyson Nix (Austin), Samantha Wagoner and Kyliegh Wagoner; cousins, Meagan Bunker and family, Nikki Held and family; Garrett’s mother, Melinda Crane; in-laws, Virlinda and Steven Hurst of Burrton; bonus family, Carla Crane and Phyllis Crane; and countless friends.
Bob was preceded in death by: his parents, Gerry Don Davis and Pamela DeLoach; grandparents, Gladys and Buck Martin; aunt, Linda Beaver (Jim); cousin, Derrick Beaver; and bonus father-in-law, Jerry Crane.
Celebration of life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Friendly Bingo, 106 West 1st Ave. Hutchinson, KS. Military honors will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
