HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas State Fair Board will meet in a special session to go over some unexpected changes to the Expo Barn project.
Work crews recently discovered damage to some columns. That means the board will need to take action on a change order totaling about $60,000.
Board action is needed since the expenditure is more than $30,000.
The $1.2 million renovation of the Expo Barn includes a new roof, renovated columns and side panels and new lighting and electrical systems. If all goes as planned the work should be completed by the end of January.
The State Fair Board meeting is Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Kansas State Fair Administration Building.
