HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The positive test rate number for Reno County has bounced back up a bit, even as case count continues to go down.
According to information on the Reno County dashboard Thursday, the 14-day positive test rate as of March 28 was up to 3.8%, with a 14-day new case total of 19, so schools will remain in the green for the coming week.
There are 12 active cases in Reno County as of Thursday. The last time cases were this low was the first week in July. 139 people have had their deaths classified as COVID-related. Just two of those deaths have occurred in the last 30 days.
Out of 7,750 total cases since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 7,599 recoveries. There are 8 clusters still being monitored. None of the cluster types have documented cases currently visible on the dashboard.
Two Reno County residents are in the hospital with COVID-19. There have been 368 hospitalizations total and 103 ICU admissions.
Drive-thru testing is currently available at the Kansas Cosmosphere at 1100 N Plum in Hutchinson.
