HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hospice and Homecare of Reno County is joining with the Cosmosphere for the Space to Grieve Kids Kamp on Saturday, June 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

"It's a very difficult thing for kids to deal with," said Hospice Chaplain Cindy Dubovich. "You have the space and the staff of Cosmosphere, as they partner with us, it allows for time of both enjoyment for the kids, of things that are exciting, that are eye opening in learning, as well as time for some more inner reflection and work through their grief. They get to use both things during that day."

The free camp is for kids ages 6 to 17. Kids often come to the camp for multiple years.

"Grief is unique," Dubovich said. "It is tied to that relationship with the person they lost. Different relationships cause different reactions with kids. It changes by their age, as well."

Though this is free, those children who have experienced loss need to get registered right away.

"Registration is limited," Dubovich said. "We have a max space of 50 kids. Registration is due Friday, May 26."

To register your child, call Hospice and Homecare of Reno County at 620-665-2473.
