JoAnn Lucille Smith, 83, of McPherson, KS, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Cedars House, McPherson KS

JoAnn was born in Kensington, KS on April 28, 1940, a daughter of Florance Lucille (Heath) Taylor and Melburn Earl Taylor, Sr.

JoAnn attended Beloit grade schools and graduated from Beloit High School, Beloit, Kansas.

She attended Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson.

Through the years JoAnn worked for Kit Manufacturing as a final finisher, Road Ranger as a lead, McPherson, Kansas, lunch lady at Windom Elementary School, Windom, Kansas, American Maplan, Ensz Furniture Store as a sales person, daycare provider and she owned and operated her own business called Parts Plus all of McPherson, Kansas.

JoAnn enjoyed her family, camping, crafts, reading, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

JoAnn Lucille Taylor was united in marriage to Larry Dean Smith on December 17, 1960 in Lincoln, Kansas where they established their first home together. This union was blessed with two daughters, Teresa and Lisa. Larry passed away November 9, 2017

She is survived by her children, Teresa Crawford, of McPherson, Kansas and Lisa Komarek (Daniel), of Newton, Kansas. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Jason Crawford (Julia), Nicole Butler (Adam), Heather Crawford, Dustin Komarek (Jenn), and Luke Komarek and 4 great-grandchildren, Caleb Crawford, Oliver Crawford, Cole Butler and Arista Butler.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Melburn Earl Taylor, Sr. and Florence Lucille (Heath) Taylor; husband Larry Dean Smith; brothers Melburn Earl, Jr., Charles Taylor, Donald "Jack" Taylor and sisters Arloa Moore, Hollie Rice and Betty Henderson.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Glidden - Ediger - Wiggins Chapel, McPherson, KS.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Glidden - Ediger - Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, KS with Father Jorge Lopez officiating.

Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
