Agenda for solar public hearing released

SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Planner Mark Vonachen released on Monday the agenda for a special meeting of the Reno County Planning Commission, which will meet for the purposes of a public hearing on solar issues in the county, Monday, July 29.

The agenda item is listed as follows:

A request by the Reno County Planning Commission for a series of text amendments to the Reno County Zoning Regulations to create Article 15-105(58a), which clarifies a Solar Energy System (Limited scale commercial) requires a conditional use permit, create Article 15-109 (1)(L) and Article 15-109 (2)(H) to establish private groundmounted solar energy system regulations, amend Article 15-109(2)(A) to eliminate the term “Solar collectors”, and create Article 15-111(8) which prohibits a commercial solar energy system in the zoned area of the County.

The Reno County Planning Commission meets Monday, July 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Reno County Public Works facility at 600 Scott Boulevard in South Hutchinson.
