MIAMI COUNTY—A Kansas man is in custody after a high-speed chase in a reported stolen vehicle.
Just after 1p.m. Friday, police located a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Overland Park, according to a media release.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the vehicle at the intersection of Holly Lane and Baptiste Drive. The vehicle fled and traveled onto U.S. 169 northbound. With the assistance of Miami County Sheriff deputies, the vehicle was pursued until U.S. 169 and 215th Street where stop sticks were deployed by Spring Hill police. The driver of the fleeing vehicle lost control and the vehicle came to a stop in the median just north of 215th Street.
Police took the driver identified as 23-year-old Skyler Chacon into custody. He is being held in the Miami County Jail on requested charges of flee and elude, reckless driving, no drivers license and other alleged traffic violations. He is expected to face additional charges. There were no injuries reported.
