Marilyn Joy Adams, 90, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at Parkwood Village in Pratt, Kansas. She was born November 28, 1933 in Cullison, Kansas to Loyd and Mildred (Smith) Rice. Marilyn married Richard Adams on August 23, 1953. They were married for 71 years.
Marilyn graduated Pratt High School in 1952. She worked for the Cullison Co-op until she retired. She then became a bookkeeper for Adams Electric. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and Pilot Club of Cullison, Kansas. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and canasta. She loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by Husband, Richard Adams; Daughters, Christa (Gregory) Smith of Mesa, Arizona and Malia Ward of Pratt; Son, Steven Adams of Syracuse, New York; Sister, Vicki (Richard) Jarboe of Smith Station, Alabama; Grandchildren, Casey Brown, Marshall Brown, Kami (Bryan) Nickelson and Matthew Ward; Great-Grandchildren, Blake Melcher, Cambry Melcher, Mason Melcher and Wylan Betzen.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Priscilla Sue Rice.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, Kansas with John Hamm presiding. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Cullison, Kansas.
