
SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One person was injured in a single vehicle accident Monday morning near South Hutchinson.
The Reno County Sheriff's Office Fire and EMS were dispatched to the US 50 and K14 west junction around 7:50 a.m. Monday
Arriving law enforcement found an SUV approximately 150 feet off the roadway in a tree row, and the driver 44-year-old Scott Chapman laying in the grass behind the vehicle.
During the investigation it was determined Chapman left the roadway, over corrected and then left the roadway down the embankment. Chapman’s vehicle rolled at least two times ejecting him from the vehicle.
Chapman said he doesn’t know for sure when the accident happened which was called in by a passing motorist. Chapman did say he was trying to avoid a deer in the road.
He was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center due to his injuries.
