ImoJean E. (Sheller) Frantz |1924-2022|

ImoJean E. (Sheller) Frantz, 98, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in her home at Angel Arms Residential Care Facility. She was born on March 20, 1924, on the family farm near Grundy Center, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Ruth (Schwab) Sheller. Graduating from McPherson College, she spent her days as a teacher and ultimately as a homemaker.

On August 23, 1944, ImoJean married Merlin L. Frantz at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, near Grundy Center.

She was an active member of the McPherson Church of the Brethren working with children; serving on the Banquet Committee; and sharing her beautiful voice in choir, ensembles, and solos. She was known for her cake decorating, flower arranging, singing, catering, sewing, and hostessing, as well as loving mother and valued friend. An active member of many community organizations, she was a fifty plus year member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter AY.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the McPherson Church of the Brethren. A private burial of cremains will precede the service.

Survivors include: daughters Claudia Law, Lynne (Dan) Lichty, and Dawnelle Adcock, all of McPherson; grandchildren Michael (Erin) Law, Dena (Jon) Law, Jonas (Beth) Lichty, Elizabeth (Nick) MacDonald, Renata (Paul) Prose, Lacey (Keith) Jones, Jacob (Megan) Gayer, Lara (Seth) Schoming, and Monica (Sean) Conyers; 29 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin Frantz; parents Glenn and Ruth Sheller; brother Charles Sheller; sisters Myrtle Morland, Emma Hess, and Doris Sheller; grandson Brandon Adcock; and great-granddaughter Emeri Gayer.

Memorials may be given to McPherson College (Merlin and ImoJean Frantz scholarship), McPherson Church of the Brethren (kitchen fund), or Angel Arms Residential Care Facility in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
