HPD officer completes training at KLETC

YODER, Kan. — A member of the Hutchinson Police Department is among the latest group of law enforcement officers who graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center Jan. 14 at a ceremony held in KLETC’s Integrity Auditorium. Officer Manuel Luna was among the 23 new officers to complete the training. 

The speaker for the ceremony was Darrell Atteberry, Chief of Police for the Bel Aire Police Department. Michael Turenne, KLETC Senior Instructor of Police, was the Class Coordinator for the 287th Basic Training Class.

The graduates began their training in September 2021 and represented 19 municipal, county and state law enforcement agencies from across Kansas. 

Luna will now begin three months of infield training with the HPD.
